STRINGS UNBOUND: SUNSET TO MIDNIGHT
The CAZ is so happy to have Alex Cousins back on our stage.
To appreciate the excitment that surround this show you must check out the video clip below!
Most people walk in not sure what to expect, and walk out saying they've never heard a cello sound like that.
A live band, cocktails, a room that glows from sunset to midnight, and songs you already know played in a way you never have — it's the kind of night out you won't really find anywhere else in Buffalo.
When the band kicks in, the sound carrying the whole room isn't a guitar or a voice. It's a cello, though probably not the cello you're picturing. There's no recital here, no back of the orchestra — in Alex's hands it can wail, dig into a groove, and soar over the top of the whole band.
Electric cellist Alex Cousins returns to The Caz with Strings Unbound: Sunset to Midnight, a full-band show that pulls the cello into rock, pop, and Latin grooves while the room climbs from warm and golden to loud and electric. Behind him is a real seven-piece band, all live, feeding off each other and the crowd. Out front are songs you know by heart — Despacito, Kashmir, Voodoo Child, Livin' on a Prayer, Bad Guy, Valerie — turned into something you didn't know they could be.
It starts warm and rhythmic, then it builds. The band gets bigger, the energy climbs, and by the end the whole room is on its feet. Bring the friend who swears they don't even like cello — they'll leave a fan.
Alex trained at the Peabody Conservatory and has played everywhere from South by Southwest to KeyBank Center, where he performed in concert with the Eagles. And this is no debut — Strings Unbound sold out at Pausa Art House and keeps bringing people back to The Caz.
Come for date night, come with friends, or come because you've never seen anything quite like it here.
