The band Rolling Stone calls “ROUSING,” Blackbird is a multi–award-winning group fusing Native flute with contemporary rock into a powerful genre they call “Alter-Native” Fusion.
Co-founded by brothers Cody and Caleb Blackbird, the band has shared stages with artists such as The Black Eyed Peas, Wayne Newton, Jewel, Jason Mraz, John Trudell, Joanne Shenandoah, and many more.
Blackbird’s first two studio albums were produced by Kenny Lee Lewis of the Steve Miller Band. Their latest release, Existence is Resistance, produced by Jason Cropper (co-founder of Weezer), features guest appearances by John Popper of Blues Traveler.
Cody Blackbird also appeared on the late John Trudell’s final album Wounded Indians, produced by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jackson Browne.
Blackbird’s music delivers a message of resilience, unity, and cultural pride—through a genre-defying, high-energy sound that’s as emotionally stirring as it is sonically bold.
