Rock for the Cure

October 18, 2025

The Kensingtons, past Sportsmen’s Americana Music Foundation Band of the Year, will

headline the 8th Annual “Rock for the Cure” concert presented by the Against the Storm Foundation. The Kensingtons are a classic rock band based in Buffalo, NY, who have been together for over 10-years. The band features four lead vocalists with a repertoire that spans more than 50 years. The Kensingtons feature three members of the Against the Storm Foundation’s board of directors – Tom Lillis (bass), Joey Nicastro (lead guitar/vocals), and Jack Freedenberg (keyboard/vocals). Other members are Tim Franczyk (rhythm guitar/vocals), Mike Lillis (drums), and Justin Rizzo (rhythm guitar/vocals).

Also performing is Letter to Elise, a hot new indie-rock group from Western New York. Letter to Elise is an explosive band with a diversity of music. This 5-member band includes Elliott Hunt (rhythm guitar/lead vocals), Jon Gordner (lead guitar), Chris Lillis

(keyboard/backup vocals), Walter Galey (bass/backup vocals), and Dave Dombrowski (Drums).

"The Against the Storm Foundation, a New York State not for profit 501(c)(3), will host this event with proceeds supporting the mission of the foundation." Against the Storm Foundation

The Against the Storm Foundation exists to help fight blood cancers and support other causes that will improve the health and quality of life for people in need.

Rock for the Cure began in 2015 as a fund raising idea created by Tom Lillis and Joey Nicastro. They viewed the concert as a great opportunity to raise money for Charity, and with the generosity of many local musicians and corporate sponsors this event has been a huge success. Past performances have included The Kensingtons, Ron Hawkins, Strictly Hip, Grace Stumberg Band, The Nicastro Brothers, Mom Said No, Jelly Jar and K-Ride.
